Dogs and cats produce a protein which people can become allergic to. This protein is found in dander and all secretions including saliva. Our lab can measure the amount of allergenic protein a dog or cat produces to let you know if your pet is a HIGH, MEDIUM, or LOW producer. You can use this test to choose a hypoallergenic dog.

This website also contains a database of information collected by measuring the allergenic protein from individual pets. The results are listed by breed, age, and sex. These results will serve you to make better decisions regarding pet selection and pet allergen control, and will guide further research

Improving the quality of life of allergic dog and cat owners.

Dogs and cats produce a protein which is found in their saliva and which coats their fur. People can develop an allergic reaction to this protein. Breathing in the allergen triggers an allergic reaction in people that are sensitive to it. Not all animals produce the same amount of protein. How much allergen your pet produces determines how allergenic your pet is.

Our test measures the amount of protein allergen your dog or cat produces. We also test dust samples. The level of allergens produced determines how allergenic, or likely to cause allergy symptoms, they are. Test your breed of dog or cat to see if they are hypoallergenic.
